There is a sluice for irrigation whose foundation is in excellent condition, as it was constructed by the owner of this land. The plantation is called La Jalousie. It is of cultural historical value, and according to the state oil company, there is very likely oil underground in this area, as onshore oil is being extracted in large quantities at Tamaredjo, close to the plantation. The distance from the capital Paramaribo to the plantation is only 50 kilometers and can be reached by a boat with an outboard motor in just over half an hour. A rented pontoon can be used to transport materials.
