Meet Sander Nijskens, an experienced professional with a diverse background in dairy farming, finance, and ruminant nutrition. Sander’s journey began at the age of 14 when his parents made the bold decision to move their family from South Limburg in the Netherlands to Australia, where they purchased and operated a dairy farm. Today, Sander’s parents successfully run a thriving dairy operation, milking 250 cows on 160 hectares of land, with an additional 80 hectares dedicated to young stock.
Inspired by his family’s farming heritage, Sander developed a strong passion for agriculture. He pursued a Bachelor of Business in Farm Management, building a solid foundation for a career in agribusiness. Following his studies, he spent four years with ANZ Bank (Australia and New Zealand Banking Group), holding various positions across Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland, and South Australia.
After his banking career, Sander transitioned into the ruminant nutrition industry and joined one of Victoria’s largest feed companies. Over a period of five and a half years, he managed the ruminant nutrition operations of five feed mills, demonstrating both strategic leadership and in-depth industry expertise.
Driven by a desire for greater independence and professional autonomy, Sander established his own consultancy business. Today, he provides specialised advice on agricultural finance and ruminant nutrition to both corporate and family farming operations. In addition to his consultancy work, he remains closely connected to farming by assisting his parents with their dairy business whenever possible.
