In 2012, Frans moved from the Dutch river region to the Westerwald area in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, where he purchased a mixed farming operation consisting of both owned and leased land totaling 100 hectares. He subsequently built a modern dairy facility for 150 cows, complete with silage bunkers and a manure storage system, and later constructed a new home on the property.
Over the years, the farm expanded to a total of 225 hectares of owned and leased land. Due to health issues, Frans was eventually forced to sell the business. Since April 1, 2023, he has been working with Interfarms as an advisor for the federal states of Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Hesse, and parts of North Rhine-Westphalia.
