Location

The company Hunsballe Grønt is located near Eggeslevmagle, northeast of Skælskør in Denmark. It is a family business with a long history in growing vegetables and fruit and is one of the largest strawberry producers in the country. The main site is at Orebyvej 80, with additional plots at Orebyvej 55 and Sandbjergvej 145.


Land

The total area is 132 hectares, of which:

  • 117.8 ha EU arable land (including approx. 9.2 ha fallow land)
  • 1.63 ha permanent grassland
  • 10.5 ha modern greenhouses for strawberry production
  • Other areas: approx. 0.7 ha

The land is largely eligible for subsidies and suitable for both conventional and organic cultivation.


Residence

At Orebyvej 80 stands a characteristic house from 1917 with a total living area of approx. 400 m². In addition, there are several living units and facilities for seasonal workers on the site.


Buildings and storage

  • Production and storage spaces: approx. 5,000 m² for processing, cooling, packaging, and machinery.
  • Greenhouses: 8.2 ha of glass and foil greenhouses, equipped for Tabletop production, partly heated and computer-controlled.
  • Tunnel greenhouses: 2.3 ha for Tabletop production.
  • Water collection: large basins for rain and drainage water (up to 14,000 m³) with UV purification.


Machinery

The machinery can be taken over by agreement. Inventory and business equipment are included in the value of the commercial buildings.


Subsidies

Of the total area, 85.7 ha is eligible for subsidies. The company holds membership rights with Gasa Odense for the sale of strawberries and vegetables, including production subsidies.
