Location and type of business
Højbo is a harmonious organic dairy farm near Lyne in Southwest Jutland. The business focuses on milk production with 120 high-yielding SDM cows and organic arable farming on approximately 120 hectares (including leased land).
Farm buildings and equipment
The main barn, built in 2009, is well constructed with steel arches, stone walls, and automatic curtains. There are 90 cubicles, 60 feeding stalls, a welfare area with calving and deep bedding sections, and a separation area. Feeding is done with a Mullerup smart feeder, and milk production is carried out via two De Laval milking robots (2020). The building also includes an administration section with an office, canteen, and toilet.
Additional barns
A former cow barn has been converted into a young stock barn with 64 cubicles for calves and heifers. There is also a deep litter section for 30 calves and a space for 40 dry cows/pregnant heifers.
Residence
The farm has a beautiful house of 186 m² in red brick with a glass tile roof, spread over two floors. The house has a practical and neat layout and is ready for occupancy. There is also a double garage, which is heatable and lockable.
Land
The business has a total area of 92.1 hectares, of which 81.3 hectares are arable land and 4.9 hectares are permanent grassland. The land is suitable for organic dairy farming and can be fully irrigated using four wells and five Fasterholt irrigation machines.
Livestock
The farm has a high-quality, organic SDM breeding herd of 120 cows and 120 heifers, with an annual milk production of 12,500 ECM. The milk is supplied to Arla, and the herd is the highest rated in Denmark, without hoof problems.
